The concept for the Newtown Youth Academy began as the dream of Mr. Peter D'Amico,
long time resident and avid supporter of youth sports in Newtown.

Construction began in November of 2007 with the demolition of Bridgewater House on the Fairfiled Hills campus. Bridgewater House was originally constructed in 1949 with a total square footage of 65,730 SF

First the interior structures were removed and the site prepared.

Then the walls were torn down

The materials were separated, ground and used as base for the building foundation.
By February 2008 the footings and outline of the facility are clearly visable.

The walls are laid out and formed on-site....

By May 2008 the new walls will be tilted up into position.....
